About us

UKinsite was launched in 2002 by Dr Mark Newman, its principal consultant. In his own words:

"I gained my PhD in Psychology in 1997, examining human-computer interaction, and went on to work on projects for DERA and BAE Systems. In 2000 I moved from the defence sector into a more commercial environment, first as a consultant and then as Head of Usability.

"My experiences convinced me that there was a need for a consultancy that could provide design - and for a design agency that had usability at its core, not just added on as a marketing tactic. I set up UKinsite to meet this need."

Our staff are all highly experienced. Prior to joining UKinsite they have worked on a number of projects for clients such as:

• the UK and Irish governments,
• Microsoft,
• Centrica,
• Marconi,
• Egg.

We have also worked on projects for local clients - supporting the online presence of small businesses.

Our approach

UKinsite provide both consultancy and design services, and aim to support the strategic management of site propositions. We make sure that websites and applications meet the needs of their owners.

Our commercial experience allows us to understand your business needs, but it is our academic training that allows us to adapt our methods to best meet them. This ensures that our services - from one day assessments to long term projects - provide a good return on investment.
